Everything Must Be Efficient

Written on November 17, 2023

The modern zeitgeist can be summarized in a single sentence, everything must be as efficient as possible. It all must be done as quickly as possible, as easily as possible, as grandly as possible and everything can be sacrificed as long as life is made more efficient for us.

This ranges from the small to the large and terrible, such as intensive livestock farming. Farms where thousands to tens of thousands of animals are born in metal cages, then put into cages so small they can't even turn around and after a couple of weeks to months are brutally slaughtered without ever seeing a single ray of sunshine.

These things happen for one reason only, to maximize efficiency and profitability. Today's society is the perfect convergence of capitalism — the pursuit of profit, wealth and power — and liberalism, namely the liberal idea that we should have the complete domination over everything.

Nature and its animals must serve us and nothing is sacred anymore except man. God is dead, Nietzsche said at the end of the first industrial revolution. God is not dead, He is all around us. We have merely tried to replace Him with money.

Every inch of the planet must be easily accessible and of course have an internet connection. For our measly convenience, the entire planet has been destroyed with asphalt, cement and other toxic chemicals concocted in a laboratory somewhere. Even some stars in the night sky are fake and actually low-flying satellites.

The parts of this earth that humanity has not yet dug its claws into and poisoned are rare. Even basic human needs like food have been so poisoned that people are developing diseases en masse at a rate never seen before in history. All for the sake of efficiency and profitability of the companies producing the food.

Luckily, man does not have to live destructively at all. We have been living together with the earth, animals and plants for centuries. Even today this still sometimes rarely happens. We have just been fooled by profiteering wealthy elite that living this way is the norm and that unfortunately, we simply cannot change anything about it. You and I do not profit from destroying everything sacred, they do.

I'm here to tell you that we can change and that it's not difficult to do. We just need to destroy the facade of the industrial society the elites put up in front of this beautiful universe. Beauty is all around us, you just don't notice it sitting in an office under fluorescent beams.
