We are being poisoned by the things we are eating. Profit-driven companies have replaced healthy ingredients with poisonous synthetic chemicals which are cheaper to produce for them. This caused our diet to change from healthy to something which people would have never even considered food 100 years ago.
An example, the 0% sugar ads. The question we should immediately ask ourselves is, what did they replace it with? The answer, a company selling vitaminwater had replaced sugar with a combination of synthetic chemicals called cyclamate, acesulfame potassium and pantothenic acid.
The sole reason someone could buy these alternatives and conceive it as a healthy choice is because of marketing.
Another example, seed oils. Only possible to be made with big machines in big factories from what was formerly considered toxic industrial waste. Seed oils are in almost everything. From oat milk, to bread, cereal, salad dressings, so-called healthy snacks and even high-end restaurant food.
The cottonseed oil Wikipedia page states: "Gossypol is a toxic, yellow, polyphenolic compound produced by cotton. This naturally occurring colored compound is found in tiny glands in the seed of the cotton plant. The adaptive function of the compound facilitates natural insect resistance. The three key steps of refining, bleaching, and deodorization in producing finished oil act to eliminate the gossypol level. Ferric chloride is often used to decolorize cotton seed oil."
Does this still sound like food? You can go outside, find an orange tree and pick an orange ready for consumption. That is what is healthy and that is what a diet should consist of.
The moral of the story is always try to eat fresh food, avoid prepackaged food as much as possible and when buying something prepackaged, never forget to read the list of ingredients.
The golden rule is, don't recognize an ingredient? Don't buy it.
